Background
Transport is an integral part of many of the largest organisations across Australia and the world but very few efficient systems exist to track all related details about the transport network assets, i.e. vehicles and their drivers. For example, useful information for the transport network manager to have on call is vehicle fault registers and servicing details, vehicle logs, current vehicle locations, licence details of drivers in the network and their job history etc.
Previously and regrettably in many organisations even today the transport manager has needed to rely on spreadsheet software which requires a great deal of effort to maintain and update with the frequency required to be useful in a fast moving dynamic environment.
What is the Transport Managers Toolbox? The Transport Managers Toolbox is a software package for the effective management of various types of vehicle fleets. The package is a user-friendly application that can be installed and used on a stand-alone/server system. The data is stored in an SQL database and the TMT application reads and examines this information.
What does it do, and what are the benefits of the Transport Managers Toolbox? The Transport Managers toolbox application has been developed for use as a transport management system to assist in the day-to-day management of fleet vehicle operation. The system assists in the organisation, tracking and management of transport network assets, such as vehicles, drivers and various equipment assets.
It is intended to:
- Reduce the amount of data entry a Transport Manager would spend on a daily, monthly or yearly basis,
- Provide customised and professional looking reports based on the input
- Ensure secure information transfer of Driver and Vehicle data information across a network.
- Reduce double handling of information,
- Provide advanced sorting/filtering of information,
- Import, Export and Backup critical information on individual or group records, and
- Centralise the many tasks of a transport manager into a single application.
The TMT is designed to provide a computer automated transport office that a transport manager/supervisor can use on a daily basis. It is designed to incorporate many of the computer-related tasks into a single easy-to-use application rather then continually use large amounts of spreadsheets or other programs.
